We begin with the African diaspora, because it is where the questions are sharpest and the data thinnest. The inquiry is not confined to it. Wherever people carry skill, capital and obligation across a border, the same mechanics apply — and they are almost never examined with the seriousness they deserve.

The capital question
It is the question nobody examines properly. Our research programme studies the mechanics behind the answer: transfer friction, FX and convertibility, capital repatriation, cross-border credit, and whether trust and access exist at all. We report what we measure; we do not recommend where anyone should put their money.
